We "gathered" (online) some friends, including 88 year old Grand Ole Opry Star Bobby Osborne (The Osborne Brothers, Rocky Top etc) to make a music video. It was a case of reviving old friendships and utilizing the "at home" time for some music making. It was a lot of fun, and for us this was an antidote to the boredom and malaise of the troubled times we are living through.
Bluegrass Today, an online publication for Bluegrass music, did a profile a few days ago.
Of course each artist recorded their parts from their homes. Billy Troy (Omaha, NE), Bobby Osborne (Nashville, TN), Hugh Moore (Raleigh NC), Allyn Love (Raleigh, NC), Chris Sharp (Durham, NC), Ray Legere (New Brunswick, Canada).
Bobby Osborne is one of Bluegrass Music's biggest stars and a pioneer of the genre, and for him to still be performing at 88 years old is a real inspiration. And he is the oldest active member of the Grand Ole Opry.
There is no product being sold, no band to promote, and no financial motive for this project. The motivation was just the love of our music and love and respect for each other.
We are all proud of it and loved doing it and hope it brings a smile to your face.
